Kelly Elliot writes the most amazing love stories with characters you adore. I love that she keeps giving us back the characters we love and miss. This is the story of Taylor/Liza, the daughter of Layton and Whitley and Walker, the son of Reed and Courtney.They grew up together, they are best friends, their parents are best friend and have been each others constant, that is until they have to go away to college. Liza meets Keith and Walker meets Jessica. Keith has proposed to Liza but she won't give him an answer and Jessica is pressuring Walker to propose to her.
The summer when school is over and they end up at the ranch together without their significant others, they will find they still love one another. But their will be obstacles in their way, mainly the guilt over their current boyfriend and girlfriend.
Kelly Elliot has a way of writing that makes you the reader feel every emotion the characters are feeling. All the angst and anxiety. The chemistry is so strong between Liza and Walker and they do get a little push from their family towards one another.
I just love a good romance and Kelly is the best, i love all her books!! Bring on Jace and Ava (Liza's brother and Walker's sister)

If you don't read this book you are missing out on a terrific story. It's a story of deep love. The first part of the book really made me nervous. Liza and Walker had a tough time keeping a promise they made to each other years ago. They discovered they still loved one another even though they both were involved with someone else. There is also someone who doesn't want them to be happy and in love. This is a wonderful book and I will probably read it again. Enjoy the story. I know I did.
Liza & Walker are amazing!!! Walker make Liza promise to wait for him but when he said good bye to her 3 years earlier because being so far away from each other wasn't working he didn't expect her to move on and get engaged! Once they graduated college Liza was going home for the summer before she had to give Keith an answer and that is when strange things started happening to Liza..... When Walker gets back to the ranch he is excited to see Liza and is hoping to spend some time with her but he wasn't expecting to see another mans ring on her finger! Can Liza and Walker work things out or will Walker hurt Liza so badly that she will move to Dallas with Keith????
Let me start off by saying that I am a huge Fan of Kelly Elliot. I am always very pleased with her books. This one however was a little lacking,don't get me wrong it was sweet and had some steamy moments but I just felt like it was just thrown together. I loved the characters and of course I have read the other books in this series,I just wish it was more laid out better and not so scattered. Hopefully the next book in this series will be better because like I said I love Kelly's work and will for sure be reading the next one.;)
Oh my gosh I think this was my favorite in the broken series so far!!! I fell head over heels for Walker and Lisa aka Taylor. In the beginning of the book these two make a promise before leaving for college to wait for each other. Of course as time goes by promises get broken but love never dies between these two. We get both character’s POVs and the feelings these two still have for each other even though both are in relationships with someone else. I knew right away I did not like Walker’s girlfriend Jessica one bit and Lisa’s boyfriend Keith wasn’t much better. I wanted to shack these two sometimes to get their heads out of the clouds and back where it should be. Finally when these two are back on the right track some crazy things start to happen. I love how Kelly takes us on a thrill ride but everything seems to fall into place just when you think they won’t. I can’t wait to read more from Kelly she never disappoints.
Book 3 in this Broken Series I had to 1-click yesterday and pretty much read until the wee hours of the morning to the very end. This book is about Whitley and Layton's daughter Taylor Elizabeth "Liza" and Reed and Courtney's son Walker. OMG I just love his name. They grew up best friends since their parents were best friend. But the night of their graduation party feelings change when they kiss for the first time. Both go off to different schools and after college graduation the story continues when both are back home for the summer. Walker dreams of race horses in Llano TX, his girlfriend is moving home with him. Liza wants to be a teacher in Llano but her current boyfriend/fiancé wants her to marry him and move to Dallas leaving her family and her whole life. Walker and Liza really struggle with their feelings and there is a whole lot of wonderful wrapped up in this story many twists and turns. Smiling thru tears I really loved this book. Can't wait for next chapter- Ava's story.
Broken and Broken Dreams were 5++ star reads for me. I knew from the glimpse I'd gotten of Broken Promises that it was going to be a tough read, and it was. I struggled a lot with Walker & Liza's story, mainly because I fell SO in love w/ their parents' stories, that I already had so much love in my heart for these two. I didn't want them to have to struggle so much, but the first half of the story is just that.
I started this in August, but when both Walker & Liza were w/ other ppl I just couldn't get into the story. I couldn't read all of those struggles while they were talking about marrying other ppl. It's just a pet peeve of mine, and I in no way think it should hinder you from reading this at all!
Once they broke through their rift, the second half of the story was fabulous! I truly enjoyed reading about their relationship, and there is some drama in the last half, but it's outside the relationship & they work together & support each other, and I like that a lot. ) Even tho there might be more struggle, I'm still very much looking forward to Ava's story, which is out next. )
